Making a household budget spreadsheet is one area that we all dread to work out! And to avoid it, we say that we would do it at a later date. The most important area to cover first is your fixed expenditure area - rent payment, utilities, insurance, food and clothing, gas (for your car or cars), etc. So, once you get the salary in hand, you automatically deduct these and the balance left has to be budgeted. Everything said and done, let us see some means and ways by which we can save money and make our household budget spreadsheet or monthly budget spreadsheet work. 1. Curtail down on your restaurant visits - make them very occasional. I dont think home cooked food is bad! 2. In summer, put off your air conditioner when you are not in the room or in the house. Even if you are there, try to use the fan(s). 3. If by chance the electricity trips, immediately switch off all the electronic items that are on. When current comes, the meter moves twice the normal if the items are left on. This increases the electricity units. 4. During winter, wear a good amount of warm clothing than wearing something flimsy in the house and letting the room heater run for long hours. 5. Instead of going to multiplexes every time you feel like watching a movie and spending through your nose, rent DVD and watch movies at home. 6. Instead of buying books, you can borrow them from your local library at a very cheap membership fee. Nowadays, books are so expensive! 7. Get discounted store coupons for little purchases from the malls. This way you can save a lot. There are many other little save-money techniques. Go by it and you will see your monthly budget spreadsheet reduce considerably.
Dont Forget About Transportation When choosing a place to live, consider transportation costs--fuel, commute, and the wear-and-tear on your vehicle. As a general rule, living within 15 or 20 minutes of the workplace and doctors office can save a lot of fuel, travel time and lengthen the life of your vehicle. Lastly, include an estimate on the monthly budget spreadsheet of how much youre planning to allot for entertainment. That way, you can save up your "entertainment funds" for something bigger (like a vacation) or spend it on smaller perks. Its also important to save some for emergency funds as well, because cars break down and people do become ill. All of this and anything else you can think of as a potential cost should be included on the spreadsheet so youll have some idea of what youre going to spend before you have to spend it. As each month passes, simply update the spreadsheet to reflect actual costs.
Credit Cards- Even thou I am not a great advocate of credit cards, they do (if used correctly) allow a family to establish over time, a good credit history. In addition, in times of calamity, credit cards are a quick avenue of cash! When looking for a budget spreadsheet, look for a home budget that allows for the use and management of a least one credit card. In addition, your home budget should also give you the ability to swap out any projected budgeted transactions, for a credit card transaction. Charts - One of the greatest advancements in computer technology as been the processor speed. Today it possible to chart just about any information; but that is not the same as saying that all charted information is of value to you, the user. When considering a budget spreadsheet or home budget software, ask yourself, "Will the charts provide useful information necessary for me in achieving my short and long term goals in life?" "If I stay on budget, will my bank balance fluctuate either up or down?" "Does my projected budget TRULY reflect by lifestyle?"
