You may know the basics of adding comments, but I have included a few lesser known tricks. These skills can be used in any version of Excel although the 2013 and 2007 version steps may be a little different from the ones I am describing for Excel 2010. The Basics The basic commands for comments can be found using your Right-click menu or the Comments group on the Review ribbon. When you choose New Comment, a box will appear that includes the user name of your computer (you can change this in the General tab of the Excel Options) and a cursor that indicates it is waiting for you to start typing. When you navigate away from the cell the comment box will disappear and be replaced by a red triangle in the top right corner. Any time you hover over a cell with a red triangle, the comment will be displayed.
