This allows you to allocate about 10% of the wedding budget to unforeseen expenses that may arise during the planning process. This will cover anything that goes wrong. The contingency is only supposed to be used in case of an emergency and not to increase the number of items you will have at the wedding. The money can be used in case the flowers you ordered for are not delivered in time and you have to order others. A wedding budget spreadsheet can either be in PDF form or excel depending on your preferences. There are various sites on the internet that offer the spreadsheets and you can choose the one that is includes all the items that you intend to have at the wedding. Some of them can be customized to suit your specific wedding needs.

I use the spreadsheet along with MsWord to create a mail merge, the two programs work together to print addresses directly on flyers, post cards or envelopes. I can print 10,000 names in a few hours. There is no need to print labels and then have to stick them on your mailer. Another use for the spreadsheet is to do job costing. You can keep track of your painters hours and compare those hours to the hours you used to calculate the estimate for the job. Enter the painters names in the first column, you can then enter to rooms or job names in the first row. Then in each column under the room name put the hours or you can break it down further, putting the separate items like walls and molding/trim and keep track of the hours spent doing individual items. Of course there is always the profit and loss statement or spreadsheet with all expenses, which you give to the accountant. Using the spreadsheet to keep track of company expenses is a good use, and again you can use the "AutoSum" feature to keep totals. One nice thing about Excel is that if you change a figure in the column or row that you are totaling, the "AutoSum" will automatically adjust the total to reflect the new figure. So whatever uses you find for this program, you will find that it saves time and energy to do these repetitious jobs. And it will do things like adding or multiplying correctly and with ease.

The process can be described as the ability to arrange numbers, characters and other objects into rows and columns. It is most common that spreadsheets only contain numbers and text. The software version of spreadsheeting basically takes the manual processes described above and puts them into an electronic format. Whilst the accounting industry which most commonly uses spreadsheets they can be used in any situation. The types of industries that use spreadsheets include the science industry, financial services industry, aviation industry, civil and mechanical engineering industry, education, research, science, bio-sciences, marine biology, the list is endless. Essentially any industry that requires the ability to plan, analyse and model data.

The spreadsheet was introduced back in the 1980s and evolved into a complex program, but with the right experience it can be an effective tool for estimating large or small projects. Standalone programs work fine for estimating large projects; however they cannot estimate all structural elements of the project, such as, concrete, reinforcement, form-work, excavation, and back-fill at one time. Because of this restriction, contractors are forced to develop spreadsheet calculators ensuring bids were covering all required disciplines in their bids to ensure correctness. Construction bids missing important materials or a labor calculation is the number one reason companies incur large loses on projects they would generally have slim profits designed into the bid.

Electronic Spreadsheets Give Insight into Business Financials Say you have a seasonal business and know that you do well during the summer and the winter holidays and nose-dive in January through March. You can use a spreadsheet to help you budget during the fat times to have some cash padding during the lean times. You can also look years into the future and get an idea of how small changes may affect your overall financial picture. Even someone that will not be using a spreadsheet for business can use one for estimating costs at home. Spreadsheets are Handy for Home DIY Projects Too Perhaps you are considering a DIY project like building a shed. You may have a gut feeling that a 15 foot by 15 foot shed will cost more in lumber and nails than a 12 foot by 12 foot shed, right? Well, setting up information on the size of the shed and the costs of nails and boards, in your spreadsheet, will better help you estimate the overall cost of your project. This could mean the difference between completing your project or running out of money when the project is almost finished. These examples just scratch the surface when it comes to why someone should learn how to use a spreadsheet such as Microsoft Excel. MS Excel is the most widely used electronic spreadsheet ever, and is an incredibly power tool. Those who can quickly set up spreadsheets using Excel, have a huge advantage in so many ways.

Well, apart from the obvious additional overhead costs of managing your IT network using a spreadsheet due to the manual data input required and the high risk of data entry error, the actual process required to retrieve the data then keep it up to date is also extremely time consuming, if not laborious and horrendously boring to say the least. Storing your data within an XL spreadsheet also poses major security risks due to the easy nature that the data can be stored, copied, emailed and even accidentally deleted. Today though, there are numerous tools available that offer a wealth of different ways for IT departments to manage their network under the asset management banner. All tools have their advantages and disadvantages and prices vary wildly from vendor to vendor.

Spreadsheet entry jobs fall under the data entry category, and they are most sought after jobs for people who want to keep themselves busy while they wait for a preferred job. The reason these jobs are popular is because they require basic computer skills; and if you need to do the job from home, all you need is a computer, Internet connection and a good typing speed. A spreadsheet entry job requires the worker to enter data into a spreadsheet, which is easier than using database software. Often times, the employer requires you to research information, or type data from other documents and input the data into a spreadsheet as specified by the employer. Companies will hire you when they have a lot of information that they need inputted into spreadsheets, and sorted in a particular manner. Many times, this includes information typed on paper and scanned into JPEG, or using online forms. When companies have a lot of data to input into spreadsheets or a database, they will outsource the job, but often times this is a short-lived job. However, you may find recruitment and staffing who will hire you for the long-term; in many cases, when your contract ends, the staffing agency will find you another job quickly.

The first wall is what I call "spreadsheet suffocation." It is that stage of information sharing pain that causes people to start cussing. Where did you save the Johnson calculations? Who has the orders spreadsheet locked? Where did my new inventory list go? Did someone write over it? There was 2 days work in that spreadsheet! When a team of people reaches this point - whether they are a small company or a department within a larger enterprise - they need a central collaboration solution built. They may be able to buy it or they may have to build one, depending on their specific needs... but the pain of trying to collaborate is now so high that they are suffocating - a significant growth bottleneck has set in.

Over the past 15 years, it has become an indispensable, universal communications tool. Its the number one method for file transfers - whether a daily cartoon, pdf, YouTube movie, or Excel file. Its convenient, universal, and instantaneous. And although its a key component of the Excel workaround, while helping solve one problem, it creates a host of others. Control: Once you click send, the file is no longer under your control. What could be (and probably is) sensitive corporate data is in the hands of people you can only hope are trustworthy. Time Email is sequential. If you need input from multiple people, you are dependent on them opening, contributing, and resending the document in a timely manner. Which person in the chain has it now? How are they progressing? When will I get the file back?
