After you have spent some time collecting figures and transforming them into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet you may need to present your workbook to clients and colleagues. Thanks to the huge array of features offered by the programme, you can design your workbooks in many different forms. Some entrepreneurs prefer information to be presented in straightforward tables, while others benefit from the varied functions of the software and they create coloured pie charts to reflect the data. Whichever way you choose to present information, you are likely to find that MS Excel is the backbone of many workplace documents that require analysis and presentation of data. A great feature of the product is that is has been designed to help you produce workbooks that can be easily moved to other applications. For instance, if you have recently put-together a spreadsheet that shows which departments are underperforming, you may wish to transfer information to other MS products.

You can add more data if you would like or even use an already existing spreadsheet. The choice is completely up to you; however the steps to reformat the column widths are all the same as you will soon see. The next step is to highlight the columns that you want to reformat. To reformat the columns we are using in our example, using the month names, you need to click on the column header labeled "A". Now hold down the "shift" key and click the column header labeled "L". In other words you are clicking the first column and the last column. If you chose to use your own spreadsheet, your columns that you use may be different. You could also click on column header "A" and holding down the left mouse button, drag the cursor over top of the final column, in this case "L", and let go of the mouse button. Either way is fine.

There is software that you can find on the internet that can help you access your documents. The basic software is free and on most occasions the only program required for users. To remove the password that was set on the excel file you can use the password remover software. This is is a program that may be used to remove, retrei or unlock a password on an Excel sheet or workbook. Most passwords that are used to protect files are usually given to the workbook or individual spreadsheets. This allows users to view the file without making any changes to the structure. The only person who can modify the data is the creator of the file.

If you would like to create a quick view of just a few records from Microsoft Access, you can simply copy the data from a datasheet view in Access and then paste the data into Excel. If you would like to have a static copy of a large amount of data from an Access database, you can save the data from an Access table, form or report and copy it to an Excel worksheet. These methods work well when you do not need to refresh the contents of the Excel worksheet every time there is a change in the Access data. If you would like the data in the Excel worksheet to be linked to the Access data so that every time the data in the Access database changes, the Excel data refreshes too, you might have to create an Office Connection. For example, you might store all your employees payroll data in an Access database and only include monthly summaries in an Excel worksheet.

Quick calculator in Excel Dont you think that Alt + Tabbing between you Excel sheet and your calculator is a royal pain? What if you could import a calculator in your Excel sheet itself? Wont that be amazing! All you need to do is select View, then go to Toolbars and select Customize in Excel. When you reach the Customize screen, choose the commands tab after that select Tools from Categories list. You can scroll down the list of icons till the time you find the calculator. For some strange reason it is labeled as Custom there but dont worry about it. You can drag it to your Toolbar; it is now set for your convenience.

The most important thing I always keep in mind when creating a new Excel work book or worksheet is I NEVER assume that I will not want to add in new formulas or data to the spreadsheet because it is more than likely I will. With this is the forefront of your mind I would always spend around 80% of my time planning the spreadsheet and only 20% of my time implementing it. If you have not carried out spreadsheet design in this way before it may seem a little over the top, extreme or way out, or even inefficient, but the return on the investment of this time planning is extreme and way out also. Believe me it is quickly paid back over a very short amount of time. Once you have used this method and spend most of your time planning, the actual planning of the Excel spreadsheet in itself gets easier and more efficient. As we know the best return of investment to is to carry out an action once, and then reap the rewards over and over again by re using this action. In Excel an obvious example would be to create a macro that automates some activity you carry out on a regular basis or to create a template that will be re- used time and time again. This is my aim with this approach to spreadsheet building. To really plan the spreadsheet, and dont be afraid to spend a decent amount of time on it. My advice to you would be try this out on your next spreadsheet even if it seems a bit alien. Let me know how you find this approach to spreadsheet building.

Download the software and when complete it will automatically open Excel and ask you if you will like to enable macros that are part of the add-ins. You should click enable and then open the spreadsheet that you want to unlock. Two new options will appear under the Tools button; Unprotect Workbook and Unprotect Sheet. This program only works on 2000 and 2003 versions of Windows. Windows 2007 uses a more complex encryption method making it too difficult to crack. If the forgotten Excel password is associated with the file that contains the workbook then this password also needs to be bypassed. You will need to find software that unlocks all types of passwords, for files, workbooks and spreadsheets. Some of these products offer a free demo that will show you the first two characters of your password. This may be enough to jog your memory, otherwise you will need to purchase the product.

It may seem trivial to even spend time on thinking about your formatting, but if you follow a few simple rules your brilliant spreadsheet will not only look good but do your calculations speedy and efficiently. Lets keep it simple and jump straight into the simple rules of formatting with a few great tips to give you the edge on formatting. 1. Keep it simple. Spreadsheet. Lots of people spend lots of time formatting their spreadsheets that are singing and dancing, having all the bells and whistles you could think of. This a lot of the time looks great to the author of the spreadsheet, but very confusing or just looks a mess to users.. 2. Do not over format. Yes make it easy to read and follow, but do go to far, this will add bulk and can inhibit the performance of Excel. in particular conditional formatting can slow down Excel, as it continually recalculates.

The first thing I do when I estimate a painting job is to get a feel for the customers motivation for their paint job. Are they looking to sell? Are they fixing the home up for a special event, like wedding or birthday? Or is it just overdue and really needs a paint job? The next thing I do after I have digested their reason for painting their home, is to look at the job and IMAGINE doing the job. Go through the job in your mind. Making notes about the job, things that may affect the time spent working. It could be anything like we cant use a ladder to paint the family room ceiling because the room is too large and we have to cut in the lights, or there is a lot of spackling to do like cracks and nail pops. Try to get a "feel for the job". Will it take longer than usual, or will it go faster than normal? Is the area cluttered? Will you be able to move fast or slow? Is there going to be a lot of traffic? Are there kids or pets? I do all this before I measure.

If you are an office clerk or reports assistant or even if you are a manager you will have to send reports on a monthly basis and more often they will have to do with comparing old and new files as well as updating them. To compare spreadsheet reports, you will have to understand the values being given and consolidate it with any changes made for a certain period of time. If you will be dealing with several files here to compare, you may find this a very daunting task. However, knowing that there is a tool you can use to make this task easier for you is a great relief. Working in a financial firm would entail a lot of reports to be submitted on a weekly, monthly, semi- monthly, quarterly and a yearly basis. All of these reports should be monitored, and most of the data where these reports come from are based from several spreadsheets that you will have to consolidate in a timely manner. To effectively have these reports updated, you can make use of a file comparison tool that can compare spreadsheet files and allow the user to make changes to it from one file to another.
